More SJ news: due to an unfortunate hand injury, which is taking its time to resolve, guitarist Tony will be leaving Soul Junction.
Tony has contributed so much to the band. He is a first class musician, unfailingly supportive of others, has a huge knowledge of soul and rock music, and is one of those brilliantly empathetic guitar players who recognises that the gaps can be as important as the big solos. And he’s great at those too.
We’ve loved Tony’s enigmatic smile and his dry sense of humour. (In his Mustang Sally solo, we never know what is going to pop up…. rock riff or Simpsons’ theme tune?)
We hope that once Tony’s hand is fixed, he’ll be our ‘dep’ guitarist.
Meanwhile, we’ve been lucky to borrow talented guitarist Christian Sharpe from Redfish. He has been helping us out for the last few months and will be playing with us at New Year and at a big festival in January.
And we are about to audition for a new full time guitarist, so more news to come ….
